Song inspired poem.

Hallo hallo! :)
So a couple of days ago, I was looking at some stuff on YouTube when I found a Ninjago video tribute,  with this song called 'Not Alone' by Red. By the end of the video I had tears streaming down my face, and I watched it several times over until I got so overwhelmed that I needed to have a look at a different video - which was, funnily enough, One Direction's Live While We're Young, because my friend is a 1D fan girl.
Here is the link to the 'Not Alone' song and video: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ndIHrtusG6Y
Anyway, I looked at some more of the person's Ninjago Videos, and my other favourite one was Breaking the Habit by Linkin Park. So, now completely inspired by these two songs, I've made a poem/song for my own Ninja, Lucy Fu ( usually called Lucy), about how she is left behind by her family, and becomes a 'Lone Wolf', and how she's been left shattered and dispirited. I'm going to make a video for it with the song, and have real-life acting in it.

                Going ahead

         Your head is drooping
          Lost all its proudness
          The groups been torn apart,
You've been left standing on your own.

So you watch the group go off
While you stand on that lonely hill
          Your spirit's broken, left shattered.
          Time to go ahead.

           You don't wanna be picked
           To fight every battle
           But now there's no choice
           You're all alone
           In this big cold world.

           You're just scared and confused
Wanting a life that will never be
Left behind in that big dark cave
           Watching the battle be lost.

There's a tear going down your face
Your old life lies scattered -
           It's burnt, falling apart.
           Time to move on.

           You don't wanna be picked
           To fight every battle
           But now there's no choice
           You're all alone
           In this big cold world

Don't know where it went wrong
You caught them when they fell,
           Helped them when they cried
           Let them catch their breath.

           Now you've been shunned aside
No one to catch you if you fall
No one to hear your echoing call:
"Someone won't you please save me!"

           You don't wanna be picked
           To fight every battle
           But now there's no choice
           You're all alone
           In this big cold world

So who will catch you when you fall?
Who will let you catch your breath?
Who will hear you when you call:
"Someone won't you please save me?"

Ta daaa! My song. Please comment letting me know about the lyrics, as I would really like to know what you all think! ^-^

I need to be going - I'm finishing school much later than normal, and I have music theory at 6:00pm -two hours away. >_<

I'll see you all later!

Cleopatra - Murder or Suicide? (An essay by me)

Cleopatra- Murder or Suicide?
Most of us have heard the story of the beautiful Egyptian Pharaoh, Cleopatra, and how she committed Suicide instead of letting Octavian Caesar march her through the streets of Rome in his triumph. The story is so amazing, even Shakespear took the story and wrote it into a play.
But recently, in 2013, a book was published saying that Cleopatra was not bitten by a snake, but murdered by Octavian, who didn't want her, but her royal treasure. Now, with two different theories on how the Pharaoh died, history has gotten confusing. Which one is more likely to be right?
Lets have a step back in history.
Several thousand years ago, Antony and Cleopatra lived in the great city Alexandra. Times were leading into troubled waters. The couple had already lost a few of their battles, and had retreated into the city.
Antony watched some of his ships go out to battle. As they reached the enemy, each boat saluted each other and joined forces. Antony ran back through the streets, saying that Cleopatra and betrayed him. Cleopatra, in fright, hid in a temple/tomb, and told her guard to tell Antony that she was dead.
When Antony heard this, he asked his slave Eros to kill him. Eros went to strike, but turned around and stabbed himself instead. Antony marveled at the slaves courage, picked up his sword and stabbed himself.  When Cleopatra heard, she ordered for him to  be taken to her. So, bleeding to death, Antony was given to Cleopatra, where he died in her arms.
Cleopatra sent Octavian messages over and over, begging for mercy. Octavian, however, ignored them, but let her have some comforts. So, thus taking advantage of that, the Pharaoh gave orders for a deadly snake to be put in a basket of figs. Once they were in her hands, she made the snake bite her on the arm.
Octavian was told, and he came as fast as he could. But he arrived too late - the great Pharaoh Cleopatra was dead. Now he was deprived of his greatest treasure.

Now, lets look at the other version.
A criminal filer, Pat Brown, heard this version, and she doubted it. If a snake was hidden in a basket (and probably a fairly small one too) wouldn't the guards have noticed? And Cleopatra, in theory, should have still been alive when Octavian came.
So, now suspicious, she went researching, and came up with this theory:
Antony, with some of his soldiers, looked at Octavian's camp. wheeling his horse around, he made his way to escort Cleopatra and their children from the temple they were in to a hidden harbor. The plan was that when Octavian and Antony's ships were busy, Cleopatra and her fleet could escape up the Nile and down a canal to reach the Red Sea and then continue on to India.
When he dismounted one of his warriors stabbed him in the side, took the General's sword and covered it in blood, then took it to Octavian to tell him that Antony was dead.
But Cleopatra had seen what had happened, and had requested that his body be taken into the temple. However, there was nothing she could do, and he died. Antyllus hid somewhere in the temple, fearing for his life.
Octavian battled to the temple (or at least his army did) and requested to know where the royal treasure was. Both Cleopatra and her Treasurer flatly refused to tell, and both were tortured.
 Antyllus was found and killed.
Cleopatra was visited by her Treasurer, who, seeing the cut and scarred Pharaoh, gave in and told Octavian where the treasure was.
Octavian then gave the order for Cleopatra to be strangled.

Now, which one sounds more likely?
I think there could be truth in both. It wouldn't be surprising for the proud Queen to commit suicide. But if she had a Cobra in the room, it would seem to be obvious to check it over for the big, dirty, snake. Unless the Queen had somewhere to hide it once it had bitten her, or someone had hidden in the room, then stole out with the snake once everyone had left.
For now, I'm staying half-and-half. The Case still isn't solved.

Book writing :)

Hello everyone!

Today there is no poem for you. :( I know - its disappointing. I've sort of lost ideas for poems at the moment. If you have any suggestions, please put them in a comment below this post!
I have, however, been working on a book idea I've had recently. It's called Team Tech - four kids who get into a lot of adventures because of their amazing machines that Mo (the oldest girl) has made.
At the moment I've got two books planned: The Mystery of Manchester Manor - and - The Missing Fantasy Machine.
The first one is a murder mystery - a young girl died in Manchester Manor a very, very long time ago, and Mo sends Lucy and Zane to the past, while Andy works hard on two essays- the current version of history, and what Lucy and Zane are telling him.

The second book is a chasing thing - Mo has made a machine that can produce animals from Fantasy books and myths: unicorns, dragons, etc. But one day the machine gets stolen, and creatures that don't belong are appearing everywhere. So Mo, Zane, Lucy, and Andy go on an adventure to get back the amazing machine and get everything back to normal. But they also need to modify everyone's memory, so that every one forgets what just happened...

Yeah. So that's my plans! I'm also hoping to get them published. I'm thinking of self publishing them, and I looked at Some pages and I was like: O_O it costs $1000+ to publish over fifty books?!  But Freemantle has a publishing place somewhere, so I'm going to have a look.
If you are interested, here is my own, hand drawn front cover for "Mystery of Manchester Manor":

It's sideways (I'm using the ipad) but characters go from left (if you tilt your head that way) to right:
MO (white top), Lucy, Zane, Andy.

Well, I must go. Got school work to do!

Happy reading!

Time to Howl!

Hello Everyone!
I'm back! I didn't have anything to post up on Monday, and Tuesdays have gone back to being "No school work" day. And I've been going to birthday parties, so I've been busy.
I have a lovely friend, whom I prefer to call nya2468. She is very nice, and hung out with me, Sissyloo, NRGJay, and Ehinching. She loves Wolves, and has a Wolf Spirit that she calls "Shadow Howler".  So, I have decided to write her a poem - on wolves.

         The Wolf.

        Wolf.
        It's Shaggy coat,
        In wonderful colours of
        White, black, or grey,
        Is warm and soft.
        It's proud head,
        Held high,
        Has such wonderful eyes.
        It's strong paws,
        Tread through the snow,
        Leaving quaint prints behind.
        All night it's echoing howl,
        Shakes the trees and
        Rents the air.

        O lovely Shadow Howler,
        O Great Wolf,
        I grant thee freedom.

nya2468, that is my poem to you and dear Shadow Howler.

For my other readers, if you go onto the LEGO Message Boards, and find "Fugitive - a story" you should find the song I made for nya2468 - it's called "Go Nya Go". I remember that she looked at it and went "There's nothing about wolves in it!" So this is my very late poem to give her the Wolf side. :)

Well, I must go - I have school work, music class, and a video to put on my Youtube page.

Go Wild!

Some poems dating right back to 2011...

Hello dear Readers!

Well, I was looking in the book I would write every single poem I made up in, when I found some really good ones I've never put up. I was like "What? I haven't put these up yet? But they're so good! And one has the funny name!" So I'm putting those wonderful poems up now - Here we Go!

          Chicken of the Deep

   His long graceful neck
   A wonderful curve,
   As he swims along,
   Feathers as white as snow.

   He swims past again
   And Again,
White - glittering in the sun.

When I go to the sea,
   The wild waves chrash
It's foam as white as snow.
   It reminds me of the
      Swan

Memories of an Old Stallion (re-edition)

He was born on that wild, stormy, spring day.
      He was no normal horse.
His Dam, as said the rumors, had woven a spell, had called him Mystical.

His Silver-white slid through the bush,
      Finding all his old haunts.

He stands with his mares in the clearing,
      Telling the foals his memories,
Such as the Stallion who defeated his Sire,
And sought to defeat him ...

      He heard a sound,
Like a crack of twigs under a hoof,
A trumpeting call of a Stallion calling to fight.
      And quick as lightning,
His Mares and their foals hid in the scrub,
While Mystical went to face the foe.

      He stepped through the bush,
Met the old grey Stallion with a roar of rage,
      They came closer and closer,
Each roaring and screaming their defence,
And after some hours of battle,
Mystical threw his foe to the ground.

      Then, Triumphant,
He made his way back to his mares,
And they walked off through the bush.

      Games! Games! Games!
Oh what a lot of fun!
Card game, board games, computer games!
Oh what a lot of fun!
      Sleeping Queens, Scrabble, Minecraft!
Oh what a lot of fun!
      More games, More Games!
Oh what a lot of fun!
      Snap and Nabit, Ultima 6!
Oh what a lot of fun!
      Now we're all hungry,
      Lets go grab a bun!

Well, those are the really good ones that I haven't put up. The Second one, Memories of and Old Stallion, is based off a book I used to read - the Silver Brumby - and I entered it into a poetry competition, but I didn't win.

I've just remembered I had poem that I was supposed to put up at the beginning of the year when I turned 14! But I can't find the poem, and all I can remember is this :

         I'm fourteen, independent and
            Proud of it!

And funnily enough that was the last line of the poem.
Well, I still have school work - I woke up late due to the fact that I was up till 00:00 reading a book under the bedsheets with a torch - and I also have Music later today, then tomorrow my brother is coming back from Adelaide, and we need to pick him up insanely early! So yes, busy busy busy!

Well, I must be off.

Burglars - Part Two

(Continued form previous post)

Mrs Wiener took him off the roof,
Showed him the trousers to state her proof.

"It's no wonder you have a bad sleep.
Stay here! I'll be back in a peep."

And out went the Dry Cleaner,
Leaving behind a grubby Stan Wiener.

     Next Morning the young man,
     With the name 'Stunning Stan,'

Went to the place that he sold,
     Jewelery, made of pure gold.

But Mr Rompoly, the man who employed him,
     Stared at him frostily.

"You're fired!" said he. "A Cat Burglar!
     Indeed. Begone, young Burgher!"

And that is the story of Stunning Stan,
The Cat Burglar who thought he was a man.

Hello hello!

Yes, I'm back again! I would've put this at the top, but I had to write the rest of the Cat Burglar at the top. ;D

So now we have the full fifteen lines of The Cat Burglar. What a story it is! I'm glad my mother isn't a Dry Cleaner. But then, maybe it would be nice having a tidy house! (I wouldn't know, 'cause my house is always untidy - and my bedroom is the worst bit. I can't let my baby brother in, it's so messy!)

Well, I'm hoping to put up a poem about an actor soon. I don't know which one though - I suppose it's research time!

Well, I shall probably be seeing you all some time soon again.

Burglars - part One

Hello!

So my friend Magnus was here yesterday, and my Brother and I were showing him the apartment building's swimming pool and gym that we use when he said "This place would be great for a Cat Burglar. Look at all the things to climb!" and then he started making up this person who climbed the houses at night, and his mother, who was a Dry Cleaner, got tired of him messing up the place, and starts running after him.
So I've started writing the poem/song about a Cat Burglar. I'll be posting it up in parts - it's going to be very long.

The Cat Burglar - Part One

Once there was a young man,
  With the name 'Stunning Stan.'

  During the Day he sold,
  Jewelry, made of pure gold.

But at night, the young Burgher,
Turned into the fearsome Cat Burglar.

But alas! For his mother, the Dry Cleaner,
Who went by the name Mrs Wiener,

Would follow him over the roofs,
The he would roam over in his best shoes.

"Mum!" he said. "It's dangerous for you!
"If you were to fall, what'll I do?"

"I'm tired of you climbing the roofs of houses,
And coming home with torn trousers!"

So that is the beginning part! The last line is the Mother, who, like mentioned, is a dry cleaner and loves everything to be nice and tidy. Imagen a house like the Dursley's from Harry Potter!

Well, I must be off - there is school work, circus classes and dancing to be done and to go to today, I do not like the idea of being late! So I will see you all tomorrow or later in the week!

Weird Nursery Rhythms

Hello again!

Yes, I'm back!!

Well, My brothers and I have been inspired by Vi Hart's "Mary had a Laser Bat." and we have been making up our own versions! Here are mine:

Cleo had a laser bat, laser bat, laser bat! Cleo had a laser bat who decided to kill her. The bat was friends with a laser snake, laser snake, laser snake! The Bat was friends with a laser snake who exterminated Cleo.

That one was based of Cleopatra from Egypt - because apparently she didn't kill herself with an asp, but was murdered. Nice :P.

Now, a slightly more funnier one:

Three blind Ninja, three blind Ninja, see how they fight, see how they fight.
They all ran after Lord Garmadon, who chased them round with a mega gun, have you ever seen such a thing in your liiiiiiiife!! as three blind Ninja.

Ah yes, the wonderful things one can do with Nursery Rhythms. *wipes a tear of laughter off of my face* I love turning things into something else - it's something I'm very good at. If you want an example I'll tell you about the time I was knitting a scarf for my friend, when I got bored of doing the same thing over and over and I decided to turn it into a bag! So now she has a lovely, bright red knitted bag, which she carries around everywhere.

Well, I must get back to maths, as I need to go to the Library to pick up some books on history soon.

If any of you have funny versions of a nursery rhythm, please put it in the comment box at the bottom of this post! Please remember that there may be some younger kids reading this, so refrain from using swear words and such.

Smiles!

Midnight Blues

Hello everyone!
I'm back, with a new poem! Like the last two ones about LEGO, this song can be sung - so, like the other two, I just need a suitable picture for it, then I can do the filming part. Fun!
 Here it Is:

        Midnight Blue

Walking through the park at night,
Listen; the trees talk in the wind.
Near by two squirrels have a fight,
I stop close by to watch them.

  The night Owl swoops past,
  It lands and hoots dolefully.
The cat stalks a mouse. Fast!
Their eyes glow in the Dark.

  I'm standing in the dark,
  Remembering the Past,
  The Wind is a blanket,
  The Stars are my nightlights.
  They're watching over me,
  In the Midnight Blue.

  As mysteries unfold,
  I'm taken further in.
  The stories left untold,
  Gather round, left out.

  The Unicorn near a fountain,
  Dragon in the forest,
  Goblin in the Mountain,
  Fairies in the Garden.

  I'm standing in the dark,
  Remembering the Past,
  The Wind is a blanket,
  The Stars are my nightlights.
  They're watching over me,
  In the Midnight Blue.

The Owl goes in the night,
  On white feathery wings,
I stand and watch it's flight.
  The Squirrels have disappeared.

  The Midnight Blue is gone,
  Replaced by purple satin.
  Night time is done,
So I watch the glitter sky.

  I'm standing in the dark,
  Remembering the Past,
  The Wind is a blanket,
  The Stars are my nightlights.
  They're watching over me,
  In the Midnight Blue.

 The stars sink like water,
 Into the soft, purple satin.
 Hours later, Mother and Daughter,
 Are playing with a Dog.

 The Midnight Blue is over,
But it'll be back again tonight.
 I walk to my home,
 To spend the day away.

  I'm standing in the dark,
  Remembering the Past,
  The Wind is a blanket,
  The Stars are my nightlights.
  They're watching over me,
  In the Midnight Blue.

  In the Midnight Blue,
  Mysteries float, Glitter Gold,
  Silver rain falls ...
  In the Midnight Blue.

There you are!

I thought that some of you will be interested in learning that NaNoWriMo has their "Camp" coming up sometime soon - in the middle of the year. If you google search "Camp NaNoWriMo", it should come up with the link. And if you join, be sure to find me on there! My user name on it is "Spinjisumaster" and it has a pic of a green and gold My Little Pony pony - so you can be sure when you see it!

Otherwise, join me in the November NaNoWriMo - It's still the same user name if you want to find me! ;D

Well, I must go - I have a lot of school work to finish before the day is over, so I'll see you all again later!

'From up on Poppy Hill' a Miyazaki Anamation

Hello everyone!

Well, I'm back again! I got up late today (Public holiday) but I still have school work, so I'm still doing maths and what not! :D

Well, yesterday, after I posted up the LEGO poems, me, my three brothers and my parents watched a Miyazaki production while having dinner. The film was called "From up on Poppy Hill", and is about some school kids who are trying to save their club house from being demolished. There are some pretty funny bits in it, and some very sad bits, but it's really good. (I'm also planning to dress up as one of the main characters (called Umi) for a Cosplay event/compertition).
This poem is about Umi, and her flags.

   From Up on Poppy Hill

"I am raising the flags for Father."
The Siblings nod and go to school.
 From up on Poppy Hill.

She ties the flags to the string.
 Starts to pull them up.
She is raising the flags for her Father.

She watches them sway in the wind.
The boats in the harbor see her call.
 From up on Poppy Hill.

She walks down the path to school.
Behind her the flags wave and fail.
She has raised the flags for her Father.

The boy on the barge saw the flags.
He knows the girl who rose them.
 From up on Poppy Hill.

 She comes back from school.
Sees the boy waiting for her.
"I am raising the flags for Father."
 From up on Poppy Hill.

So that is about Umi, and how she raises the flags each morning for her Father, who was lost at sea.
According to one of my friends, Miyazaki is now doing his last animation. I wish Miyazaki luck with his last animation, and hope it is as good as the others. :)

In case you are wondering, this poem is a villanelle. It goes A1bA2 abA1 abA2 abA1 abA2 abA1A2. They usually rhythm, but I couldn't get any of the words to rhythm in this - I think the poem and my mind were rebelling against each other.

Well, I may be back later in the week with more poems if my Character Studies don't threaten to take over all my time! Hopefully I'll be seeing you all again next week too.

WillowUnicorn (AKA Lucy_Fu)

LEGO, LEGO!

Hello every one!
Well, I'm back again, at what I think is the last day of the week, but people consider the beginning of the week! And, even better, I have two new poems.
These can both be sung as well (I had made them to be songs) but they are just as good to read. As soon as I've got pictures/videos done for them both, I'll be putting them both up on YouTube. I'll post up the links when I've done them.

Poem 1: the Secret Sisters

   We're the secret sisters
   bound by loyalty and interests,
We stand up for what's right,
   Look out for each other.
If it wasn't for you and if it wasn't for me,
   We'd never be together.

Yeah we thought we were as
different as the Night is from the Day,
Until WindWaker10 helped to see another way:

   We like Ninjago,
   Being friends and having fun!
Standing up and looking out for every one.
Cuz we're secret sisters and that's what good friends do!

If danger makes you wanna hide I'll Spinjitzu to your side,
When you're feeling blue WindWaker10 will cheer up you,
Kindness is never in short supply when with Bridgey27,
Then MineHappyGarm is best for being really nerdy!

If you like Adventure you're like the Storm Sis Lucy_Fu,
Like to make jokes all day, you're like WindWaker10,
You're always sharing with your friends, you're like sweet Bridgey27'
And if you're always in a conversation, you're really like MineHappyGarm!

  We're the Secret Sisters,
As cool as friends can be,
No one could part you from me,
Cause in our hearts we're all the same.

That was the Secret Sisters song I made up. On the LEGO Message Boards a couple of girls and I made up the Secret Sister Society.  The song is using the original four- me(Lucy_Fu), WindWaker10, Bridgey27, and MineHappyGarm. I left before they decided who was the, erm, leader, and I also never got to post this in their HQ (anyone from the LMB who is reading this is welcome to post it up).

Poem 2: the LEGO Friends Party!

Come on girls, it's party time!
We'll show you around Heartlake City,
There's lots of things to do today,
Come on, you'll meet the Friends on the way.

Hi I'm Mia! And this is Emma,
We'll take you round for your first trip ever,
Hop in the car, we'll be on our way,
Today's gonna be a great day!

Over to the left is Sunshine Ranch,
Over to the right is Summer Riding Camp,
Look girls, it's Olivia and Stephanie,
Come on girls, got a long way to go.

Over to the right is Olivia's House,
Over to the left is Heartlake High,
Look girls, Andrea's at the school,
Hop in Andrea, we're doing something cool!

Now we're all together, it's party time!
Lets go pick up some good food!
 Chocolates, cakes, ice-cream and biscuits,
Let's hope this will fit in the car!

               ~*>*<*~

Thank you girls for staying with us!
We hope you enjoyed the Party!
Just remember, if you're feeling blue,
Call on us - we'll cheer up you!

So this poem is based off the LEGO Friends Party that is planned to happen in Sydney. There's a competition for it in the TotalGirl magazine, which I'm hoping to enter. I'll let you know if I win!

Well, I'm hoping to have a Ninjago based poem for you lovely readers soon - otherwise it will be something else. :)

I hope you enjoy reading these! As usual, please, feel free to comment.
